How to draw a castle, step by step

8 steps Fairy Tale โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Draw a castle in eight steps: a wide middle block, two tall towers on either side, pointed roofs on each tower, the battlements along the top, an arched door, windows, and a flag. Almost every line is straight, which makes castles far easier than they look.

Before you start

Step by step

  1. Draw the left tower
  2. Draw the right tower

The remaining 6 steps are in the app

This guide shows how the castle begins. The full set of 8 steps โ€” plus the colouring stage at the end โ€” lives inside Draw Along, where each line draws itself on screen and your child traces over it.

What usually goes wrong

What age is this for?

Ages 5-10. The counting in the battlements is a nice side effect.

Drawing it in the app

Castles reward neatness in a way animals do not, so this is a good drawing for a child who is starting to care about their lines being straight. In Draw Along it sits with the princess, the prince and the pumpkin carriage in one Fairy Tale set.
