How to draw a shark, step by step
Draw a shark in five steps: a long body pointed at the nose, a triangle fin on the back, a split tail, a side fin, and a wide mouth with a few teeth. Five steps makes it one of the fastest drawings here, and it still looks unmistakably like a shark.
Before you start
- The nose is a point, the tail end is not. That single asymmetry does most of the work.
- The back fin sits just past the middle, leaning backwards.
- The tail splits into two, with the top half longer than the bottom.

What usually goes wrong
- Drawing a rounded nose — that is a dolphin.
- Filling the mouth with teeth. Four triangles on the top edge is plenty.
- Making the fin vertical. It leans back, like it is moving.
